POPULUS ROMANUS II: BRITANNIA is the latest addition to the series, offering players a turn-based strategy war game experience set in ancient Rome. In this installment, players take command of Roman legions to combat British tribes and secure the conquest of Britannia. The game presents a variety of scenarios based on historical conflicts of the Roman Empire in the ancient age.

The game features 8 scenarios (1 available in the free version) of different sizes and difficulties, ranging from initial clashes in southern Britannia to the conquest of contemporary Wales and North England. Players can enjoy single-player and local multiplayer modes (no online multiplayer support) in a hex and counter gameplay style reminiscent of classic tabletop TBS board games. The game allows players to strategize their moves with no time constraints, ensuring a thoughtful planning process.

Offering an autosave function, POPULUS ROMANUS II: BRITANNIA automatically saves progress at the end of each turn or when switching away from the game, eliminating the risk of losing game data. The game is designed to be accessible on lower-spec Android devices while providing enhanced performance on more capable devices for a smoother experience. It supports all screen resolutions from pocket-size phones to large HD tablets.

Inspired by legendary retro PC strategy games like Fantasy General, Panzer General, and Battle for Wesnoth, as well as contemporary titles like Uniwar, POPULUS ROMANUS II: BRITANNIA combines elements of Civilization and Freeciv with a unique ancient Rome backdrop. The gameplay includes minor RPG aspects such as unit leveling but primarily focuses on strategic challenges.

The game transports players back to ancient Rome before the age of medieval knights and castles, where they command the Roman army in Britannia against local warlords. As players fight in the name of the Roman Empire, they must prevent the formation of a united resistance by assaulting native realms. Enter the battlefield under the protection of Mars, the god of war, and lead Rome to victory over its enemies.
